Renting a mooring in Ibiza is as hard as finding a flat

In the portals specialized in advertising the rental or sale of moorings in marinas in Ibiza there are few ads and most are at exorbitant prices or do not indicate it.

Having a boat in Ibiza exceeds the levels of extra luxury. Many nautical enthusiasts, who would like to enjoy the sea in a small boat, can not do so due to the impossibility of finding a mooring for their boat, something as difficult as finding a flat at a reasonable price. Some opt for boats that they can transport in a trailer and store them in a dry marina or at home, if they have space, another luxury in the Pitiusas.

As in the case of housing, in the portals specialized in advertising the rental or sale of moorings such as Top Boats or Cosas de Barcos, there are ads, very few, for rent or sale at exorbitant prices or without price. For example, in a marina in Ibiza a private individual offers a mooring of 10x3 meters at an annual price of 35,000 euros. A little cheaper, 31,000 euros, costs a year to dock in Santa Eulària, but in this case the size is larger, 15 meters long by 4.6 wide. Although the price in Santa Eulària is a little less expensive than in Ibiza, one of the ads offers a space of 20x6 meters for 45,000 euros per month.

Bargains are few, but they exist, especially if the space is small. In Santa Eulària, a private individual rents a mooring of 6x3 meters for 4,000 euros per year. And for 7,000 euros you can rent a berth in the same port two meters longer (8x3). To these prices must be added the consumption of water, electricity and port taxes.

In any case, data on rents or sale of spaces for boats are not usually visible in specialized portals.

Ramón van der Hooft, president of the Pimeef Nautical Association, recently told Diario de Ibiza that a mooring in Ibiza for a boat of 12 meters in length costs "an average of 25,000 euros".
